Practicing Sustainable Development, Shaping a New Green Paradigm —— Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund Debuts at Eco Forum Global Guiyang 2025
On the morning of July 6, 2025, the thematic event “Fostering Green Public Welfare for Harmonious Coexistence Between Humans and Nature” was held at Guiyang International Eco-Conference Center during Eco Forum Global Guiyang. Zhenhua Green Transition and Sustainable Development Fund (hereafter "Zhenhua Fund") made its debut at this forum, emerging as a pivotal force in advancing global green transformation. Mr. Wang Zhengang, Deputy Secretary-General of China Environmental Protection Foundation (CEPF), delivered a keynote speech emphasizing the exploration of innovative pathways for sustainable development through multilateral cooperation, echoing the forum's theme “Harmonious Coexistence Between Humans and Nature - Global Collaborative Development for Green Transformation”.
Driving Global Climate Action Through Four Strategic Pillars
In the 21st century, climate change threatens Earth's ecological balance and human sustainability at an unprecedented pace. Confronting this crisis, China's climate actions – guided by critical policy frameworks from the Central Committee and State Council – have gained global recognition. Mr. Xie Zhenhua, awarded the inaugural Nobel Sustainability Trust Special Contribution Prize, donated the full prize amount to establish the Zhenhua Fund. Under his personal guidance, the Fund operates across four domains:  International Climate Dialogue, Forward-looking Climate Action, Talent Training, International Exhibition.

From Theory to Practice: Milestones in Green Innovation
The Fund has spearheaded field research on international zero-carbon island development in Yantai, Shandong, convened climate capacity-building workshops in Hangzhou, Zhejiang, and conducted methane emission studies in Taiyuan, Shanxi. It has funded pivotal research including: Impact assessment of low-carbon policies on socio-economics for the 15th Five-Year Plan, Flexibility planning methodologies for high-renewables power systems, Carbon emission patterns in urban-rural development and their contribution to China's Dual Carbon Goals. Upcoming initiatives include the “China-US Climate Action Dialogue” and “International Dialogue on Ten-Year Action on Climate Change in Chinese and Global Philanthropies” in late 2025, designed to broaden international cooperation and knowledge exchange channels for climate governance.

Cross-sector Collaboration for a Green Future
Since its inception, the Zhenhua Fund has garnered support from global institutions, corporations, and NGOs, injecting robust momentum into its mission. Moving forward, the Fund will uphold its principles of openness, collaboration, public welfare, and shared success to pioneer sustainable transition models and co-create a new green paradigm for global low-carbon development.
