Solar-Powered Street Lights Environmental Charity Project Commences in Shandong Province
In response to global climate change and to advance China's goals of carbon peak and carbon neutrality, the China Environmental Protection Foundation has partnered with Sembcorp China Corporation to launch the "Solar-Powered Street Lights Environmental Charity Project" in Shibuzi Town, Anqiu City, Shandong Province.
The project, which commenced on April 9th 2024, aims to install over 240 solar-powered street lights, signal lights, and plaza lights along the Yanhulu Road section of village roads. By harnessing renewable energy, the initiative will provide safe lighting for rural residents, ensuring the safety of nighttime travel for both drivers and pedestrians. Additionally, it will alleviate pressure on urban power grids caused by traditional rural road lighting, thus conserving energy and reducing environmental waste.
The implementation of the "Solar-Powered Street Lights Environmental Charity Project" not only enhances the quality of life for rural residents but also contributes to the sustainable development of rural economies and societies.
