


Mr. Liu Chunlong, Secretary-General of CEPF stated that the inaugural strategic consultation meeting has laid a solid foundation for the successful launch of the fund. In the future, the fund will focus on forward-looking and innovative ecological environmental issues both domestically and internationally. It aims to build an international, multi-level dialogue and cooperation platform for international and domestic enterprises, think tanks, civil society organizations, and local governments. The fund aims to support innovative solutions to environmental protection issues such as climate change, striving to become a participant, promoter, and leader in accelerating green transformation and sustainable development in China and globally.
Under the guidance and support of Mr. Xie Zhenhua, CEPF has established the “Zhenhua Green Transformation and Sustainable Development Fund” with the entire Nobel Prize money from The Sustainability Award donated as seed funding. The fund is dedicated to projects addressing climate change, synergizing biodiversity conservation and pollution prevention and control, aiming to accelerate green transformation and sustainable development in China and globally, and to build a global community of shared future for all life on Earth.
The inaugural strategic consultation meeting was chaired by Mr. Wang Yi, member of the Standing Committee of the 14th National People's Congress(NPC), Deputy Director of the National Climate Change Expert Committee, and professor at the Institute of Science and Technology Strategy Consultation of the Chinese Academy of Sciences. Representatives from relevant departments of the Ministry of Ecology and Environment(MEE), the National Center for Climate Change Strategy and International Cooperation(NCSC), China Three Gorges Corporation, Alibaba Foundation, as well as supporting organizations from both domestic and international sectors, attended the meeting.
